the agency. The mission of Catholic
Community Service (CCS), established by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Juneau in
1973, is derived from the mission of the Church as a whole.
Catholic Community Service is a
faith-based and values-driven outreach of the Catholic Church. Under the
leadership of the Diocese of Juneau, and the Board of Director, our staff and
volunteers work diligently by advocating and offering social service
opportunities for all Southeast Alaskans, emphasizing social justice and
compassion. We accomplish this mission by fostering the self-sufficiency and
dignity of individuals and families affirming diversity in culture, faith, and
way of life.
Incorporated on January 23, 1973, Catholic Community Service employs over 250 individuals throughout Southeast Alaska; has over 500 volunteers; and operates with an annual budget of over $8 million from over 55 funding sources. Catholic Community Service offers over 40 programs and services that have a broad reach throughout Southeast Alaska including many of the remote villages.
