Classes to help with the hardest, most satisfying and most important job in the world... raising our children.
A survival skill for healthy families is a 15 hour family/parenting education program presented in ten, one and a half hour sessions. As an alternative families may choose to participate in the curriculum in a workshops format during two full consecutive Saturdays.
Research shows that well-functioning families share certain patterns. The curriculum teaches practical skills that promote these patterns.
Each session is organized around these skills which are demonstrated and then practiced by participants. It is a multi-sensory approach, using activities, worksheets, and information presented in a number of ways.
“I have more patience and yell less when problems arise, and I am becoming less engaged in disputes between the kids. We’re working together as more of a team”
“Now, I feel more secure in my role as rule maker, and I am trying to give my family members more time and space to respond. And, my family feels and shows more of an attitude of teamwork.”
“I learned that anyone can be taught skills to help their communication and parenting.”
