Board of Directors
The Catholic Community Service (CCS) Board of Directors
consists of 13 members, one of whom is the Bishop of Juneau, who
presides as the Board Chair. Board
members reflect the makeup of the community at large. CCS employees are not eligible to serve on
the Board. Each member of the Board serves
a three-year term. The Bishop of Juneau,
as prescribed by CCS By-Laws, is a permanent member of the Board.
The Board's responsibilities include:
- To act as trustees of CCS on behalf of its donors
and/or funding sources;
- To determine goals and objectives;
- To approve all fiscal, personnel and fund
development/public relations policies; other general guidelines and limits for
CCS's operation; to approve all revisions of fiscal and personnel policies; and
assure that CCS personnel adhere to policies and general guidelines;
- To authorize programs sponsored by CCS;
- To evaluate the results of CCS's operation;
- To
appoint an executive director who shall work under the direction of the Board
and have general direction and administrative responsibility for the day-to-day
operation of the programs sponsored by CCS.
- To engage in fund development and public
relations activities sponsored by CCS.
The Board holds as many regular
meetings as is necessary to conduct CCS's business, but in no event, fewer than
6 times a year (and generally 10
times per year).
