Child Care and Family Resources Program Director

Helen Kalk has served as the Program Director for Catholic Community Service’s (CCS) Child Care & Family Resources division since 2003.  She has worked for CCS since 1997, serving as a Family Resource Trainer, and then the Program Manager for the Family Resource Center (FRC) before becoming the division director.  She has a 30-year background working in the social service field, both in direct service and management. She has extensive experience working in the areas of special needs children and families, children’s mental health, children of incarcerated parents, homelessness, child abuse and neglect, parent support and education, and early childhood education.

Helen is the mother of two biological children and has been a foster parent at different times over the last 23 years including currently.  Many of her foster children experienced cognitive delays as well as multiple configurations of abuse, neglect or parental inability to meet their needs, and the trauma of having been removed from their homes.

Helen is passionate about the need for quality services for children and families, and is committed to the success of A Healthy Future Program.

FamilyResourceCenter Program Manager 

Bunti Reed has worked for CCS in various capacities at the FRC since 2001. She has worked in direct services, program development, and evaluation, and most recently served as as the Program Manager of the FRC.  Bunti has worked in social services for over 24 years, and children and family services for the last 15.

Bunti is the parent and step-parent of 4 sons and a daughter, and has served as a foster parent in the past as well.  She is the mother of an adult child with traumatic brain injury, and is a certified care coordinator for individuals with developmental delays, adults with physical disabilities and children with complex medical needs.  She has significant experience working in the children’s mental health field, providing direct services and as a manager and quality assurance officer.  In providing developmental disability and mental health services, she has specialized in the provision and oversight of wrap-around community and in-home supports of fragile and disabled individuals.  Bunti has a strong commitment to strengthening families and to providing both families and individuals with the programs and services to help them succeed.
